Will easter candy harm my child’s teeth?

Easter baskets are full of treats for kids but is all that candy harmful to their teeth?

If your child is eating chewy, sticky candy such as jelly beans, peeps, chewy fruit snacks, or chocolate bunnies – be warned – all this sugar can contribute to cavities! Make sure your child brushes his or her teeth after indulging in their favorite Easter treats. If they have had a lot of the really chewy candy, a good floss is on order and then a mouthwash. Try to limit the amount of candy in their basket – add some toys, bubbles, something they can play with out in the yard since the weather is getting warmer. Less candy = less cavities!
